The other day DL (my 7 year old) and I had a very interesting conversation. Here is how it went (basically):
DL: When I am bigger can me and my wife build a house next to you and Dad so that my kids can run over to your house to play?
Me: If that is what you and your wife want to do, sure.
DL: When Dad met you did he ask you if you went to church?
Me: What? Why?
DL: Well, how did he know that you went to church?
- I then explained to him that as you get to know someone you find out those kind of things.
DL: So when I get older I will ask some girls out on dates and I will take them and find out things about them, like if they are a messy eater or something and then I will know if I want to marry them.
Me: Are you not going to marry them if they are messy eaters?
DL: Well, I don't know. But if I like them then I just tell them that I want to marry them?
Me: Well, kinda, you will want to go out with them a little more and get to know them a little more than that.
DL: So where did Dad live when you met?
Me: He lived in an apartment and so did I with 5 other girls.
DL: Oh, so an apartment is a place where you practice living in a home?
Me: Yeah, I guess it is!
He is so funny right now with all of the things that he says. I love the way his mind works and that he will ask me these funny, but very serious questions.

You are such a good mom and you are raising four wonderful children. Keep up the good work. Love, Dad
Awesome. Maybe Dane saw you drop food on your shirt and wondered if Dad know that before he married you.
If he know then what he knows now would you still be his wife??? that is the big question
That is so funny! I'm so glad you wrote it down. Every day I think of how funny my kids are because of the things they say....like the other day I gave Tyler orange juice with his breakfast and he said..."thanks mom, this is for my drinking tube, the food was for my feeding tube." So funny. It was good to see you the other night.
