Another long day

We have had a good day today. Dale is doing well. He got up with the physical therapist this morning and walked around. He had a little bit of trouble with feeling nauseous and got sick quite a bit but has seemed to keep what little he has eaten down since lunch. He did need help walking and it will problably take him awhile to get back to normal, that is expected. He is very quiet, I keep asking him if he is sad and he shrugs his sholders and says that he just wants to get better. He was able to talk to the kids on the phone tonight and cried after, we both miss them so much. We love you kiddos!! His head hurts where they made the incision and the pain starts there and goes up to his temples, the pain medication helps. His neck is also stiff and sore. They had to cut the muscle in his neck for the surgery and then stich it back up so I can imagine that that will hurt very badly...for awhile. They have moved him from the NCC (neuro critical care) to the NAC (neuro acute care) the room is a little bit bigger and there is a beautiful view of the Salt Lake valley. He is in room 3120 for those of you who may want to know, we have had a few people asking. He is wearing a patch on his left eye (the weak one) so that he can actually see. With the patch off he sees double. Sometimes they will switch eyes so he can use his left and strengthen it. The left side of his face is also numb, the tumor was wrapped around one of the nerves to his left eye and the nerve to the left side of his face. The doctor is sure that he will fully recover with some time. Patience, patience, patience! He has has some wonderful nurses that have taken such good care of him, we will be forever grateful for them and their kindness. We are also grateful for the doctors and the surgeons, they did a wonderful job. The doctor thinks he might be able to come home either Thursday or Friday. Well I think that is all, I hope he is feeling better and happier tomorrow, pray for a speedy recovery. Thank you all for you love, prayers and support!
