As most of you know we got a dog when we moved into our new house last August. He was an Australian Shepard/Border Collie mix and his name is Gus. We decided a few months ago that we needed to give him away because he is always chained up in our backyard (we do not have a fence) and we are going to put in our yard this summer (sprinkler system and grass) and therefore could not have him on it while the grass was trying to grow. We felt really bad for him because he is a cow dog and was chained up all day in the hot sun without any cool grass to lay in. It was very hard for D to think of getting rid of him, he really loved Gus so it took us awhile to really do anything about giving him away. We had left word at the vets place about him and yesterday we got a call. The guy came and looked at him and of course wanted him (Gus is a very good dog and is a very nice looking dog). He took him immediately and we all had to say goodbye to him. The man that took him lives in a subdivision that is in our ward but he owns cows on some land and that it what he needed Gus for. He will be so happy to be able to run around with cows and do what he was born to do. We will miss him a lot but we know that he is probably really happy bossing those cows around! Goodbye Gus, we miss you!!
